Betty Mae Sheriff, 82, a resident of Crestview Acres, died Friday, January 22, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, George; her children: Nancy Sisco (Curtis), Rick Sheriff, Ron (Sharon) Sheriff, Gary Sheriff and Tim Sheriff; 27 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, George Sheriff, Jr; and a daughter, Kathy Walton.

Betty was born January 29, 1927, the daughter of Mitchell and Ollie Grooms, in St. Joseph, Missouri. On June 6, 1941, she married George Sheriff. Betty was a homemaker.         

A memorial fund has been established in Betty's memory.
