This summer, the Marion Chamber of Commerce and Saint Luke's Hospital will partner together to bring a farmers' market to uptown Marion during three Saturdays in June, July and August.

The farmers' market will be held on the second Saturday of each of the summer months, on June 12, July 10 and August 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in City Square Park. The event will feature vendors selling produce, baked goods, plants and flowers. Live entertainment is also expected to be on hand during the three market dates.

According to Chamber of Commerce President Jill Ackerman, an uptown farmers' market was a popular concept suggested by community members during last year's Imagine8 visioning process.

Those interested in having a table at the market can call the Chamber at 377-6316. A list of vendors and programs should be available in April.
