Robbie Horsburgh

Robbie Lee Horsburgh, 85, of Marion, died there on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Services were 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial was 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Friends called at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 12.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia McInerney of Chatham, Ill., and Suzanne (James) Halley of Marion. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Thomas Fehrenbacher, Major Michael Halley, Michele McGuire and Angela Beaudet; and six great-grandchildren: William, Catherine, Nicholas, Halley, Gannon and Paige.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Robbie was born on July 12, 1924, in Maybank, Tex., the daughter of Robert and Argus Lamb Nesmith. She married Arthur R. Horsburgh on August 26, 1950, in Houston, Tex. Art died in 2009. Robbie was a secretary for the Shell Oil Refinery and Gulf Oil for several years and later became a full-time homemaker.
She was a proud member of the D.A.R. and enjoyed family camping trips. Robbie and her husband traveled the world, including taking 14 ocean cruises. Robbie was a true southern lady who will be greatly missed by her loving family.
