Marian E. Clearwaters, 94, of Marion, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2010, in her home.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.

She is survived by her children: Steven Dye of San Francisco, Robert Dye (Barb) of Marion and Kathy Robinson (Jim) of Denver; grandchildren: Deb (Andrew), Brian, Tami (Jim) and Annie; two great-grandchildren: Kira and Carter; and her sister-in-law, Jennie Capps of Phillipsburg, Kans. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ivan Clearwaters, her brother Leonard Burrows and her stepson Keith Clearwaters.

Marian was born July 1, 1915, the daughter of Bert and Nelle (Lyttle) Burrows. She was a proud lifetime resident of Marion. Her passions included her love of family, music and dancing, animals, politics and reading. She traveled to many states to research her family genealogy and compiled an extensive written history. She loved her home, garden, flowers, birds and the peace, quiet and beauty of the family acreage in Ely.

Marian was a compassionate listener, liked to laugh and was a great mom to many. "Dude" will be missed by her immediate family, including her beloved niece, Lynda Burrows of California. A special thanks to her caring neighbors, Pete and Nelda.
