Marion girls soccer team shut out of state
by Jeff Dahn · June 10th, 2010

Kristin Kramer scored two more goals to run her single season school record total to 30, and Marion beat Mount Vernon-Lisbon, 5-0, in a Class 1A regional tournament quarterfinal last Tuesday, June 1, at Marion.

That win vaulted the unranked Indians into last Friday's regional semifinal at top-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier, where they lost, 5-0, and saw a highly successful season come to an end.

Lexie Rael, Emily North and Sarah Rosenberger also had goals in the win against Mount Vernon-Lisbon, and Kramer added three assists to her goal total. Rosenberger and Siera Rodgriuez also added assists.

The Indians finished with a 10-6 record and just two games short of a state tournament berth.
